practice history Samuel Clifford Tee set up practice on 1 January 1895 in Moor-gate, City of London. Initially, work focused on industrial develop-ment in the Lea Valley - clients were given a complete service from site acquisition to building design, construction management and rating appeals. Leslie Gale joined Clifford Tee in 1919 and the partnership of S. Clifford Tee and Gale was formed. The practice's combination of skills and expertise in industrial design was vital to the war effort and CT+G became a national practice, acquiring land by government requisition and building factories using innovative lightweight construction techniques. After the War, the practice moved to larger premises in Victoria and diversified into a broad range of projects - developing expertise in specialist areas including the design of power stations, bridges, prisons, police stations, radar installations, magistrates’ courts and specialist training centres. |
